Honduras SHB EP Fair Trade Organic Cosagual
Cooperativa de Servicios Agropecuarios Gualcinse Limitada, COSAGUAL, is a cooperative founded in 1994 with the idea of improving production and trading the coffee harvested by its founding members. COSAGUAL is based in the Gualcinse municipality, Lempira Province, but its influence extends to other municipalities, i.e. Candelaria, Piraera, San Andrés, Erandique y Santa Cruz. About 75% of the coffee is processed at the coop’s own wet mill, which ensures a more standard final product and an efficient use of precious resources such as water. COSAGUAL has been Fair Trade certified since 2001 and organic certified since 2003.
