ICE Coffee Futures Extend Losses by FC Stone

Arabica  coffee  futures  extended  losses  Wednesday  as  specs  continued  to  sell  encouraged  by  the  technical performance.   The most active contract for December delivery reached new lows of 118.15 and settled  245 points lower at 118.35 cents  a pound.   The volume increased to 36,606 lots, including 10,530 switches.   The Brazilian real fell for a fourth consecutive day to a new low.  Disappointed news of the industrial production caused the depreciation of the currency.   The real traded at BRL 3.7614  at 1:30 pm EST, hitting new 12 - year lows. In related news, Cocatrel, a Brazilian coop based in Minas Gerais expects to receive 900,000 to 1 million bags ( 60-kilo), a little less than 1 million they received last season.  Spring rains are expected to trigger the flowering for the 2016 crop, reported REUTERS. Harvest is already at 80 percent, and the quality is good, they added.
