Café Alma de Chiapas was established in 2011 with 144 members and has since grown to nearly 500 organic producers. The organization supports producers in covering the upfront expenses of social and environmental certification (such as fair trade and organic). It employs a community-based approach, offering prompt and direct training for producers, promoting savings among small producers, and ensuring quality control throughout the coffee production process, from tree to cup.
Additionally, Alma de Chiapas serves as an incubator for sustainable social enterprises, aiming to empower organizations to become self-sufficient and economically independent. |
