SULAWESI KALOSSI GR1.
Sulawesi Kalossi is a unique coffee originating from the island of Sulawesi (formerly known as Celebes), part of Indonesia's archipelago. Known for its rich flavor, it is cultivated in the Kalossi region, located in the northern part of Sulawesi in the Surigao del Sur province. The island’s stunning mountainous landscapes and tropical climate create the ideal conditions for coffee cultivation, making it one of the most renowned coffee-producing areas in Indonesia.
This coffee is typically processed using the wet-hulling method (Giling Basah), where the coffee cherry's outer skin is partially removed before drying the beans. This process results in a coffee with a lower acidity and a fuller, richer body. The wet-hulling technique is characteristic of the Sulawesi region, contributing to the distinct earthy, spicy, and complex flavor profile that Sulawesi Kalossi is known for.
