Farm Overview and History
Finca El Cipres is named after the variety of tree called El Cipres. This tree is a symbol for the family and they even have a centenary El Cipres tree, located in the middle of the property. The tree holds value to the Mora family as it has been there since 1938 and is now the farms official symbol. This farms growing practices has evolved over the decades and in the 1990s they changed their methods of cultivation, opting for more sustainable and eco-friendly methods. Finally Finca El Cipres is a family owned business that prides itself in providing the highest quality coffee beans in the most eco friendly way.
In the 1980s, Jesus Mora began to produce more coffee with the advent of the green revolution, which saw an increase in coffee cultivation worldwide. However, in the 1990s, the focus shifted towards more sustainable and organic practices. Today, Jesus Mora, along with his wife Eli Maria Solano and their grown children, prioritizes quality over quantity by using sustainable practices on the farm, developing different coffee processing methods such as honey, red and yellow, and washed.
Coffee is not just a business but a passion and a lifestyle for the family, representing the legacy of their grandparents. Through generations, they have worked to maintain their love for coffee and continue the production to share their efforts and work behind every cup of coffee with people around the world. |
