Multicoop Tolima is a coffee cooperative located in the heart of southern Tolima, a region known for its mountainous landscapes, biodiversity, and high-quality coffee production. The organization brings together small coffee producers from Planadas, a municipality situated at an altitude ranging from 1,400 to 2,000 meters above sea level, ideal for cultivating specialty coffee. More than just a productive entity, it is a community committed to social development, economic equity, and environmental protection. Its cooperative model encourages active participation from coffee growers, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and ensuring traceability and quality from the farm to the cup. In addition, efforts are constantly made to improve the living conditions of its members through educational, health, and rural welfare programs.
By joining forces, the associations can market their products collectively, obtaining better prices and conditions in the market, which strengthens their position and improves producers' incomes. Training programs on new technologies and sustainable agricultural practices are also provided, allowing producers to enhance their efficiency and quality while reducing their environmental impact. The cooperative offers support to ensure that products meet international quality and sustainability standards, such as organic certifications and fair trade, increasing consumer trust and opening new market opportunities. Furthermore, spaces are created for the active participation of women and youth in agricultural production, strengthening inclusion and social cohesion within the communities.
