About Sugar Cane EA from Descafecol Descafecol, located in the Colombian coffee region, has over 30 years of experience in coffee industrialization. It operates the only decaffeination plant in Colombia and an instant coffee plant, using 100% Colombian Arabica coffee. Serving customers in more than 28 countries. The natural decaffeination process combines high mountain spring water and ethyl acetate (EA) of natural origin. EA is present in every coffee cherry in its natural state, as well as in many fruits and vegetables. Therefore, no synthetic chemical substances are added. The natural EA is obtained from a sugar cane-based process and, along with spring water, is the only element the coffee comes into contact with. This water-EA process allows for gentle extraction of caffeine from the bean, avoiding excessive heat or pressure, and maintaining the natural structure and characteristics of the coffee bean.
